Event Description: Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS) published a draft Action Plan for a $422 million disaster recovery grant, funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The effort, known as “ReOregon,” will support individuals, households, and communities that continue to recover from the 2020 Labor Day Fires. The assistance will primarily come in the form of new permanent housing in the areas most impacted by the disaster.

Through June 1, OHCS is seeking public comment on the draft Action Plan for spending the funds, known as Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR). Members of the public are invited to provide their input on the draft Action Plan in person at the public hearing.

You're invited to take part in an upcoming webinar regarding special incentives to rebuild new homes and buildings after wildfires. This is a revised broadcast from a webinar in December 2021, with new information about how to apply for incentives from the Building Codes Division, Oregon Department of Energy, and Energy Trust of Oregon new homes and new buildings programs.

In recent years, wildfires have done tremendous damage to communities in Oregon. Energy Trust of Oregon is working with the Oregon Department of Energy and the Oregon Building Codes Division to provide resources to wildfire survivors as they rebuild their homes and buildings. This webinar provides an overview for developers, builders, and homeowners of available incentives and how to apply.

Manufactured Homes Forum - Updates for Fire Survivors

Signs of wildfire recovery in Talent and Phoenix are visible from I-5 and Highway 99, including progress in the manufactured home park sector. With old and new parks under construction, the state is providing grants and incentives to make homes more affordable, energy efficient and fire resistant.

Hosted by Representative Pam Marsh, this discussion will provide an update and new information on programs for fire survivors, including Oregon’s newly revamped replacement housing grant/loan through Oregon Housing and Community Services; energy efficiency programs available from Energy Trust of Oregon and Oregon Department of Energy; and the fire hardening incentive offered by Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services. Speakers from each agency will share information about requirements for eligibility, the applications process, timelines, cost commitments and contact information. Presentations will be followed by an opportunity for Q&A.

Native Tree & Shrub Distribution Event

The North Santiam Watershed Council and Marion Soil and Water Conservation District are holding an event to give away approximately 30,000 plants to properties impacted by the Beachie Creek and Lionshead wildfires.

Giveaway of native tree and shrubs to wildfire survivors. Recipients will need to provide their name, planting address and contact information for grant reporting purposes.

Special “Thank You” to the Arbor Day Foundation and the Bonneville Environmental Foundation for providing the plant material.

Note: Pick up on Feb 26 and 27th ONLY until plants are gone. We cannot hold plants, no early pick up and we do not take orders for plants.

Oregon Legislature House Special Committee on Wildfire Recovery - Public Hearing

The Oregon Legislature House Special Committee on Wildfire Recovery will be holding a public hearing for wildfire survivors on Tuesday, February 15th from 5:30 - 7:30 PM. The committee would like to hear about your wildfire recovery experience, including any challenges you continue to face rebuilding your homes, communities, and lives.
